Eight hours may be enough when:

A wedding with a large guest count, active dance floor, multiple traditions, and two photographers may produce more finished images than a smaller wedding with a shorter timeline.
As a general guideline, my weddings typically produce approximately 50 to 100 finished images per hour of coverage. I focus first on the requested family photographs and major wedding moments, then document the candid interactions, details, and transitions that complete the gallery.
More photographs do not automatically mean better coverage. Review full galleries to judge consistency, lighting, posing, skin tones, ceremony coverage, and reception work.
Is a Second Photographer Worth the Cost?
A second photographer provides more than an additional camera angle.
They can help photograph:

The processional from the front and back

How Does a Second Line Affect Wedding Photography Costs?
A second line is one of the most recognizable parts of a New Orleans wedding, but it needs to be planned carefully.
Second-line photography is included when the parade takes place during your contracted coverage hours. Because every full wedding collection includes two photographers, additional staffing generally isn't necessary. Extra charges may apply when the parade extends beyond your scheduled coverage, requires additional travel or involves separate events.

Coverage must continue at another reception location
The second line takes place during a welcome party or separate event
The second line should also be built into the wedding timeline. Your photographer needs time to position the team, photograph the couple and guests, manage changing light, and reach the ending location.
For a street second line in New Orleans, the city requires a parade permit, police escort, and applicable permitting fees. The route and parade size help determine the number of officers required. Applications must be submitted at least 15 days before the planned parade, although earlier coordination is better.
These city, band, escort, and permit expenses are separate from your photography package.

Some photographers include travel within New Orleans and nearby areas, while others charge mileage, lodging, or travel-day fees.
My wedding photography packages include travel within 30 driving miles of ZIP code 70056. Beyond the included 60 round-trip miles, travel is calculated at $2 per additional round-trip mile, rounded up to the next $25 increment. Weddings requiring more than 300 round-trip miles receive a custom travel quote. Overnight accommodations may also be required for destination weddings or late-ending events.
Location Permits and Photography Policies
Some parks, hotels, courtyards, museums, private properties, and event venues require permission or additional coordination for professional photography.
Do not assume that public access automatically includes permission for a professional session, equipment setup, or extended portrait coverage.
