I’m Chad Populis, a photographer and videographer based in Gretna, serving New Orleans and South Louisiana.
My work includes weddings, professional headshots, portraits, events, boudoir, and wedding films. I keep the process organized, comfortable, and straightforward, with clear direction when you need it and room for natural moments to happen.
My Background
I’m a South Louisiana native based in Gretna, just outside New Orleans. Creativity has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, starting with drawing, comics, graffiti, graphic design, and eventually photography and video.
My professional video background began with music videos in 2005. I started filming weddings in 2015, and photography became a major part of my work in 2016 as more clients began hiring me for weddings, events, portraits, and professional photography.
Today, I photograph and film people throughout New Orleans and South Louisiana, from wedding days and corporate events to headshots, portraits, boudoir sessions, and personal celebrations.
The different parts of my creative background still influence how I work today—composition, lighting, movement, editing, storytelling, and knowing when a moment needs direction versus when it should simply be allowed to happen.
How I Approach Photography
Most people are not professional models, and you should not need to know exactly how to pose or what to do before your session.
I give clear direction when it helps, keep things moving without rushing, and leave room for natural expressions and real moments. My photography combines candid coverage with clean, classic portraits so the finished images feel polished without looking overly staged.
Whether I’m photographing a wedding, headshot, portrait session, or live event, my goal is the same: make the experience easy to understand and deliver consistent work you’ll actually want to use, share, print, and keep.
