Why Treme Market Branch Is One of My Favorite New Orleans Wedding Venues
Updated: Sep 10
Treme Market Branch is one of my favorite places to photograph weddings in New Orleans. I have worked there enough that it feels like a second home, and I know how to use the room, architectural details, and surrounding neighborhood efficiently throughout the wedding day.
Located in historic Tremé, the venue is a restored 1930s bank building with high ceilings, vintage textures, a statement chandelier, dual staircases, a mezzanine, and several areas for portraits, ceremonies, and receptions.
Couples can view more photographs and planning details in my Treme Market Branch wedding venue guide.

Your venue affects more than the background of your photos. Ceremony timing, window light, room layout, portrait locations, travel time and second-line logistics all affect how wedding coverage should be planned. If you're still choosing photography coverage, see my New Orleans wedding photographer approach for full wedding days throughout the city.
A Flexible New Orleans Wedding Venue
Treme Market Branch can accommodate events ranging from approximately 30 to 300 guests. Available features include dressing spaces, ample free parking, two craft cocktail bars, a catering kitchen, an in-house sound system, and optional catering and décor services.
Having several services and event spaces available in one location can simplify the wedding-day timeline. Couples can prepare, take portraits, hold the ceremony, and celebrate the reception without losing coverage time traveling between multiple venues.

Strong Wedding Photography Options
From a photography perspective, Treme Market Branch provides several distinct backgrounds within one property.
The chandelier, piano, stage, staircases, balcony, large windows, and textured walls work well for:
Couple portraits
Wedding-party photographs
Family groups
Ceremony coverage
Reception entrances
First dances
Toasts and speeches
Candid dance-floor photographs
I recommend photographing the largest family and wedding-party groups first, followed by 15–25 minutes of couple portraits. This keeps the formal photographs organized while leaving room for candid moments and reception details.

Second Lines and Neighborhood Portraits
Treme Market Branch is also a practical starting point for a New Orleans second line. The surrounding streets provide local character, colorful architecture, and room for photographs of the couple, guests, and brass band.
When the timeline allows, nearby Louis Armstrong Park and other Tremé locations can add portrait variety without requiring a long trip across the city.
Make sure the planner, venue, photographer, band, and permit provider understand the second line route and timing before the wedding day.

Treme Market Branch also works especially well for video because the ceremony, reception, live music, speeches, and second-line energy can all happen within a compact area. Couples who want to preserve the movement and sound of the day can explore my New Orleans wedding videography coverage and wedding film options.
