Jasmine & Ian’s New Orleans Wedding

Jasmine and Ian celebrated their wedding on October 1, 2022, with a multi-location New Orleans wedding day that moved from Le Pavillon Hotel to Second Zion Baptist Church No. 1, the New Orleans Museum of Art Sculpture Garden, and finally Treme Market Branch.
With roughly 150 guests and an 11-person wedding party, the day required careful timing to fit preparation, ceremony, formal portraits, newlywed portraits and reception coverage into several locations.

Bridal Preparation at Le Pavillon
Jasmine prepared with her bridal party at Le Pavillon Hotel on Poydras Street.
The bride wanted photographs of the bridal party getting ready as well as bridal portraits before leaving the hotel.
The groom and groomsmen photographed at the church before the ceremony rather than having a separate full preparation session.
Ceremony at Second Zion Baptist Church
The wedding ceremony began at 4 p.m. at Second Zion Baptist Church No. 1.
After the ceremony, we completed family and wedding-party photographs at the church before leaving for the next location.
Newlywed Portraits at NOMA Sculpture Garden
Rather than going directly to the reception, Jasmine and Ian built time into the timeline for newlywed portraits at the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden at the New Orleans Museum of Art.
That dedicated portrait period allowed us to create photographs away from the ceremony and reception environments while still keeping the couple on schedule.
Reception at Treme Market Branch
The reception began at Treme Market Branch at approximately 5:30 p.m., bringing everyone together for the final chapter of Jasmine and Ian’s wedding day.
After dinner, dancing and the traditional reception moments, the celebration shifted into something distinctly New Orleans. Zulu Tramps joined the festivities along with a live brass band, helping lead the couple and their guests out of Treme Market Branch and into the streets of Treme.
The reception closed with a lively second line-style parade along Claiborne Avenue, with music, dancing and guests following behind as the celebration spilled out into the neighborhood. It was a fitting way to end a wedding day that had already moved through several iconic New Orleans locations.
The full day created four distinct visual chapters:
Le Pavillon → Second Zion Baptist Church → NOMA Sculpture Garden → Treme Market Branch → Claiborne Avenue
For couples considering several New Orleans locations on the same wedding day, travel time is one of the most important parts of the photography timeline. A great location is only useful if there is enough time to arrive, photograph comfortably and still keep the rest of the celebration on schedule.
Jasmine & Ian’s New Orleans Wedding Video
Along with photography coverage, Jasmine and Ian’s wedding day was documented on video across each location, from getting ready at Le Pavillon to the ceremony at Second Zion Baptist Church, portraits at the NOMA Sculpture Garden, and the reception at Treme Market Branch.
Wedding video adds another layer to the story by preserving the movement, voices, reactions and atmosphere that still photographs cannot fully capture.
